Meet the Founder

La’Trisha Jefferies is the CEO and Founder of Me 1st, LLC. A Philadelphia native who made an early connection to
her faith while attending The Baptist Worship Center in her hometown. She received her Bachelor of Science in
Psychology from the nation's oldest, privately owned Historically Black College, Wilberforce University. She
received the distinction Summa Cum Laude for her degree.
 
Growing up, La’Trisha was inspired by watching her mother work towards becoming a minister while working
double shifts and raising two girls. Her mother never complained, and it made La’Trisha wonder how she did it
all. When asked how she did it, she would simply say, “You gotta be every woman!” La’Trisha took the lessons
she learned from her mother and became a very active member of the church through dance, choir, usher
board, drama, and the Community Service Corps. She continues her commitment to the church by acting as a
mentor to the young ladies in the Saved Anointed Saved and Sanctified Youth, or S.A.S.S.Y young women's
group at The Baptist Worship Center in Philadelphia, PA.
 
At Wilberforce, La’Trisha continued to hone her craft as a trusted woman of faith, first as a mentor in the
Mentor/Mentee Program. She was also President of the Wilberforce Liturgical Dance Troupe, a member of the
National Society of Leadership and Success, and Vice President of her Senior Class.
 
In 2008, La’Trisha became a member of the prestigious sisterhood, "Black Women United." BWU is a sisterhood
organization that focuses on demonstrating self-respect, self-love, respect for others, and a willingness to help
others at all times. Much like the lessons she learned in church, she began coaching her BWU sisters on the
importance of self-care and how the strength of our mental health impacts our behavior, decision-making, and
success.
 
In 2014, La’Trisha began dating Kevin Jefferies. In September 2021, with faith and determination, the couple was
wed.
 
In January 2021, La’Trisha took all the lessons she learned from her mother’s sacrifices, friends, mentors, and
caregivers who have dedicated their lives to serving, and helping others. She then founded Me 1st. LLC.
Me 1st is a women’s empowerment organization designed to empower, uplift, and motivate women of all ages,
and all walks of life. “As women, we wear multiple hats and often put our needs on the back burner so that we
can serve our families and our communities.” Me 1st LLC will provide resources, referrals, and information to
help empower women while we deal with life’s daily stressors. It will be a safe haven where women will feel
supported, mentally equipped, and emotionally strengthened. Me 1st will provide educational resources that
emphasize the importance of self-efficacy, self-love, and mental and physical health, and educate women on the
importance of maintaining mental and physical health ,but don’t always have time to love-on themselves.
